The American Spirit

Today, The United States of America made history. We swore in the 44th President of USA. He also happens to be the first African American man to ever be elected to this position. We as a country should all lift our new President and his family in prayer, as they embark on this new journey that has begun.
It doesn't matter if you voted for President Obama or not, the elections have come and gone. This is a new day and we as Americans should rejoice that we have the freedom to elect whom ever we want to this position. There are many places in the world still today who don't have this luxury.
Today's events have proven that the American Spirit is alive and well, and that there is nothing that can't be done (if we put our minds to it). So for all those who are so narrow minded and believe that this is going to be a set back for our country, I say . . . get with the program, because nobody like a whiner.
So from one American to another, God Bless President Obama and his family. They have a serious job ahead of them and they need all the support and help that they can get.

My Hero . . .

Do you reall y have a hero? Me, I have several . . .
My Mom, Dad, Brother & just about everyone in my family (with the exception of a few). I once had a friend tell me that every time I got into trouble, tight spot, or a jam (whatever you want to call it), that my Mommy & Daddy always came running to my rescue. Well yeah - they always have, and aren't I the "LUCKY" one.
This friend meant what he said as an insult and that just goes to show you . . . what did he know. Absolutely nothing. I couldn't help it that his family didn't operate like that, I think he was jealous. It took me a long time to figure out that he really was jealous, because I guess I believed what he said for awhile. It wasn't until I got extremely ill that I changed my view of what he said to me. Now don't get me wrong, I did plenty to have everyone stand back and shake their heads. Anyway, what I am trying to say is , well, I feel that I have some of the best heroes any one person could be blessed with.

Loving Life . . .

to live is to dance . . .
to dance is to live!

Loving life is something that we all need to do. We spend too much time worrying about the FUTURE, instead of living in the NOW.
My grandmother the infamous "Granny Shag" was one such person. She passed away - 1 year ago (December 10, 2007). My family and myself miss her terribly, but know that she is where she wants to be "the great dance floor in the sky". This is a woman who danced so much, that she had her own personal Medic, she knew her way around Myrtle Beach quite well and was very famous in Myrtle Beach too.

My point is that we should love life exactly the way that my grandmother did (rich & full). When she died, my pastor performed her funeral, even though he did not know my grandmother very well. There are plenty of websites with her all over them dancing and having a good time. He, meaning my pastor, went to to one such site and watched her dance. He told everyone in the chapel, that it made him smile, and laugh a bit. He said, "You just gotta love a woman, who can dance with Santa Claus". If nearly 90 year old women, can love life that much, then why do we & are we worrying about what the future holds.

Besides, she (at this very moment) in Heaven, giving dance lessons to everyone . . . now that, my friends, is really loving life!
